Yikes! It's Chinese New Year already! Hey hey everyone, Happy Chinese New Year there! What do yall do during Chinese New Year? Feast on the heaty new year goodies that are too tempting to resist? Busy visiting relatives and getting pocket-ful of angpaos in return?
My Chinese New Year celebrations were never too elaborate since i stayed with my parents. Kinda missed those good old times when i was younger and when everyone's in Singapore still. The feisty family reunions, though my mom's side of the family weren't a big family, those little gatherings with my aunts and uncles were greatly enjoyed. There was the air of unity amidst and i was jolly. As i get older, such gatherings/reunions seemed to have ceased, sadly. My own family only visits on the first day,. That's it. Yea, boring. But this year's pretty interesting. On Chinese New Year day 2, Cheese invited me over to her extended family party: all her extended family members, relatives etc were present. Kids from different generations gathered. It was fun and everyone was making merry, catching up on olden times, and cracking jokes. The coziness was there definitely. It was simply marvellous that mere words can't exactly describe what i want to say. (=
On CNY day 3, Kaiye invited me over to his mom's place ( which means my kai-grandparents-i don't know how to address-place for a family gathering) Personally i'm already honoured to have such great god-family and to join them in their nice family gathering, i'm more than gracious to go. I was lucky enough to actually get to experience two somewhat similar yet very different family gatheirngs during Chinese New year this year, which marks the this year's speciality.
Perhaps it's a personal taste for large family gatherings, i love such gatherings, the more the merrier, the cozier the whole atmosphere and probably it's ultimately the unity that attracts me to such. Loves all myf riends and all who loves me to pieces.. (= Thanks everyone, for making my life so much happier!
