Happy 41th Birthday Singapore!
Happy 41th Birthday Singapore!
Gee, ok she's on her 1st day of being 41 years old today--din realise that 12 midnight passed so quickly. That i din realise having procrastinated my blogging since just now at 10pm on the 9th August 2006. Aha..Oh well.
Yea, felt quite happy for the nation, my country on her birthday where all Singaporeans stand united in one voice. It sure feels good, that we are not alone and have everyone altogether. Went out mugging with zebra's helpin maths on the horrid topic of vector. Simply detested the confusing craps in it. Anyway i noticed something peculiar on my way back on the train just now --it's a special day today being our National Day yet on the train, it felt like another ordinary day. Well, i guess it sounds normal and fair that not everyone should go crazy today but it just brought me to this point of realisation whilst passing time on the carriage full of 'foreign workers' which made me winch a bit. Perhaps it was due to what i read in the morning, an outdated newspaper cutting on the case of a female goat( i forgot what it's name is it a ram? not too sure) that got raped till death by foreign workers. Apparently i was shocked by what was reported like..Gosh what is the world becoming into? Now even animals are not spared from such sexual violations by 'disgusting creatures'. EEEks..the thought and report made me feel revolted.
Brought MOS set meal home for dinner, partly to catch the NDP on television, and partly coz zebra gotta leave at 6pm. Actually soggy fries dun really taste that bad ..ah well..it was nice, not bad but my mom claimed last year's was better. Hohoho, wonders if she said so because i performed in the parade last year.LOL. Loved the beautiful fireworks, loved the National Stadium.
I feel sad somehow that this will be the last we'll see of our dear Kallang National Stadium. What a feeling to get eh, but it did hold special experiences and memories other than the many National Day Parades there. Memorable events such as the National Schools Track and Field Meets were held there for many years, reknowned soccer matches there too, as wel as many competitions. I recall the car park outside the National Stadium i watched qith my Daddy years back as a kid on his back/shoulder where some Go Kart stalls were put up for some miniature competition.
Like many people might question as asked by my sister: Why tear down our Kallang National Stadium? What's the use of a water sports hub? Shouldn't we preserve our little heritage in the Stadium?
I cannot answer but i guess the government may have planned something for us? i suppose...
Yikes, my mom woke up to spot check on me now. gotta run and shall return to continue..brb!
